We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Paralegal to join our Las Vegas, Nevada Office. This is a full-time position with competitive salary and benefits package offered.                                                           

 

JOB SUMMARY: 

 
The Paralegal performs a variety of complex duties with limited supervision.
The individual in this role primarily supports attorneys with civil defense litigation matters in the areas of Medical Malpractice and Long-Term Care.

Responsibilities

  • Collecting medical records and organizing them for case preparation.
  • Managing and facilitating the disclosure process in accordance with NRCP 16.1.
  • Coordinating with relevant parties to ensure timely presentation of disclosures.
  • Identifying, locating, and arranging expert witnesses as needed for cases.
  • Establishing and maintaining communication with expert witnesses throughout the case.
  • Handling light motion practice, including drafting and filing motions.
  • Preparation of court orders and other legal documents under attorney supervision.
  • Assisting attorneys with various tasks as required for case management.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Proficiency with Nevada Rules of Civil Procedure (NRCP) and familiarity with California civil practice.
  • Experience with electronic filing systems.
  • Specialized knowledge in medical malpractice and long term care defense.
  • Ability to navigate through vast amounts of medical records efficiently.
  • Capability to prepare detailed medical chronologies for case analysis.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Paralegal certification or equivalent experience.
  • Prior experience in medical malpractice or long term care defense.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

This position offers the flexibility to work remotely.

 

Physical Demands 

This position is considered to be mostly sedentary and will require the employee to sit for extended periods of time. It will also require the employee to occasionally stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. They may engage in bending, stretching, reaching and other motions in the course of a working day. They will be engaged in using office equipment and computers. They may engage in lifting of supplies and materials up to 20 pounds from time to time. While performing duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to see, talk and hear.  

 

Working Conditions 

This job is located primarily in an indoor office environment with varying noise levels. There may be varying degrees of temperature. The employee may be interrupted from time to time.
